Insert the end of the rope into the fid. |

Decide on the size of your loop, add about 6" of rope and pass the fid through at that point. Go between the braids, not the smaller strands. |

Make your second pass through the rope. |
 |
Now, a third pass. |
 |
Bury the tail end of the rope into the hollow center. |
 |
Once the tail is buried, extract the fid. |
 |
You now have completed the eye splice. |
