Westpac Marine specializes in life safety equipment. While our primary focus is on the marine market, many of the items we supply are used in shore based applications. We were founded in 1984 and have been a distributor for companies such as Mine Safety Appliances and Switlik for most of the time we have been in business. You can rely on our expertise and the fact that if we do not know the answer, we will tell you so.

News:

• As of February 1, 2009 COSPAS-SARSAT will no longer process 121.5/243 MHz distress signals. Only 406 MHz beacons will save your life.
•  We now have a Facebook page which contains pictures, videos and other information which is not on this web site. November 25, 2008
• Underwriters Laboratory has announced that it will withdraw their standard for Halon 1211 fire extinguishers on September 26, 2009. After this date nobody will be allowed to manufacture a Halon 1211 portable fire extinguisher. At this time there is nothing that makes us believe that extinguishers already in service would need to be replaced. December 11, 2008
• Switlik Parachute Company has issued a recall which covers all of their marine life rafts. Their web site provides the information you need to know regarding your Switlik life raft. July 1, 2008

 The female members of our crew are using this logo to identify products that either are designed to fit women or are engineered in a manner to make them easy to use by women.

MOM-8 and MOM-9 Servicing:
MOM-8 or MOM-9 units that contain no additional equipment such as flares may be shipped by ground within the United States without having to declare them as hazardous material. Our page on MOM servicing has further information.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS
Westpac is located in downtown Tacoma, WA, just a couple of minutes from the freeway. The closest moorage is at the Dock Street Marina which also provides easy access to the museums and sights of Tacoma.
